What do you need to repair your garage door spring successfully?

So, what do you require?
Every handyman must have their set of protective gear.
That includes some leather gloves, some safety glasses, and a nice coverall.
Then, the tools required for this job include the adjustable wrench, locking pliers, a wrench set, some rags and a hammer.
You would also need a cordless drill, alongside some clamps and a socket.
For the materials, you will need a set of double-life torsion springs, a bottom bracket and some lift cables.
How then do you replace the springs?
First, you need to close the door and clamp it to the tracks.
This prevents random movements that could cause serious injuries.
Then, using your winding bars, loosen the damaged springs, while taking precautions to avoid breaking the torsion tubes.
Then, unwind the springs carefully and slowly.
With the right size spanner, remove the nuts and bolts holding the spring to the centre bracket.
Then, using your locking pliers, hold the tube in place, and remove the old, worn out and damaged springs.
Move the torsion tube out of your way and collect your materials.
Remove the old bearing and clean the region.
Now it is time to reassemble the spring to the cable drum.
Connect the left spring to the bearing bracket, and do the same to the right.
Once you have your center bearing in place, with the bottom bracket screwed in, alongside new rollers and lift cables, you can now threat the cables, and tighten the cable drums.
On the finishing streak, you then screw in the springs, stretch in in the tube and finally lubricate it.
